Scientific and pedagogical staff of department includes 3 doctors and 12 candidates of science, 5 professors and 8 docents, high quality teachers, who may real practical experience of developing and expluatation modern computer means, systems and networks.
Between teachers of department - honored figure in science and technique of Ukraine , two honored inventors of Ukraine, honored mechanician of Ukraine.
Department has scientific and technical links with most high technology enterprises in Kharkov, Ukraine, Russia, Great Britain, Germany, Finland, France и and other countries, take part in execution real projects in computer technology and systems for aerospace, telecommunication, energy and others branches. Teachers, graduate and students of department are trained in the universities of London, Newcastle (England), Stuttgart (Germany), Turku (Finland), Seoul (South Korea).
In department was created an educational design center of largest European producer computer circuitry STMicroelectronics (France-Italy). Jointly with scientific production «Radiy» (one of the leaders of computer engineering for nuclear power in Europe) was created centre of analyzing safe infrastructures.
Students, who are studying in department, regular take part and become winners in region and Ukrainian Olympiads and contests in programming and computer technique, have grants national and international funds. Scientists of department jointly with graduate and students conducting theoretical studies, practical development in area of reliable and safe computer technology for critical and commercial applications, regularly take part in organization and holding national and international conferences and projects (TEMPUS, Marie Curie Foundation etc.). On the department are working interdisciplinary scientific and technical seminar “Critical computer technologies and systems”, conducted intensive training candidates and doctors of scientific.
Reviews of companies and organizations, where work our graduates, can be argued, that department and university give high fundamental, professionally oriented and trained. This allow them after graduating successfully solve practical problems on the most dynamic markets computer and network technologies.
Our graduates work in such high technologies enterprises, as "Ukrtelekom", "Radiy", "Polisvit", "Khartron", "Monolit", state structures: SBU, MVD, other ministries, and also in popular commercial companies, that developing and exploiting modern program products, computer systems and networks (Vestron, Telesens, U-Nic Solutions, Validio, EHOSTAR, Sunbay, InterBru, Ukr-Soft, VeltonTelecom, MKS and other companies, in all the world).
Department of computer systems and networks is a graduate department on direction «Computer engeneering» three specialties. Within 4 years all students receive a basic higher education, studing on identical undergraduate curriculum, includes fundamental and professional training.
